On August 11, 2022, at approximately 12:30 PM, the Oak Creek Dispatch Center received a report of smoke coming from a residential structure in the 2300 block of East Chestnut Drive.
The first-arriving engine reported fire and smoke coming from the structure and initiated a transitional fire attack. This firefighting tactic quickly extinguishes fire from the exterior of the structure before moving, or transitioning, to an interior fire attack.
The fire was completely extinguished within 20 minutes of arrival by the Fire Department. There was one civilian injury associated with this incident, and that individual was treated on scene by Fire Department personnel.
The Oak Creek Fire Department was assisted by the Cudahy, South Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Franklin, and Greenfield Fire Departments. At this time, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
