Today, September 22, 2023,  at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Oak Creek Dispatch Center received the report of a fire inside a machine at Crothall Laundry Service, 9905 S. 13th Street.  

The first-arriving fire department apparatus made entry into the building and reported light smoke conditions and an active fire inside of a piece of machinery. Oak Creek Fire Department crews initiated an offensive fire attack and the fire was extinguished within 10 minutes of units arriving on scene.

The Oak Creek Fire Department was assisted by the Greenfield, South Milwaukee, Franklin, and Milwaukee Fire Departments.

Several employees were assessed for smoke inhalation but were not transported to the hospital.  There were no other reported injuries to occupants or firefighters and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
