New Bus Routes Rolling Out in Oak Creek Expand Transportation Options

Post Date:08/22/2025 3:41 PM

Oak Creek, Wis — August 22, 2025 — Big changes are coming to some popular bus routes in Oak Creek.

The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) just announced two new routes that will better serve Oak Creek.

Route 59 will run along Drexel Avenue from 27th Street, through Drexel Town Square, to Chicago Road beginning Sunday, August 24, 2025.

The new Route 59 buses will come every 35 minutes from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. This route will provide new connections and access to areas of Oak Creek that were previously not accessible by MCTS.

The other new service is Route 82, which will replace Route 19 in Oak Creek. So, Route 82 will travel along the same streets in Oak Creek as Route 19 did. And Route 19 will now end at 13th and Zellman Court to the north, giving riders the option to connect between the two routes. Better yet, Route 82 buses will now come more frequently, every 40 minutes, as opposed to the current 45-minute interval. Route 82 buses will run from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.
