Oak Creek’s Market Place Shopping Village welcomed a new local favorite in October 2024: Avenue Coffeehouse, owned by Sara Lewkowski and partner Aaron Ruiz. After relocating from their original South Milwaukee location, the duo doubled their seating capacity and gained the space to bake and prepare food in-house—bringing even more flavor and creativity to their menu.

Lewkowski explained how open and welcoming the Oak Creek community has been since Avenue’s opening.

“So many people tell us they hoped for a coffee shop to walk to, and we’re so grateful they choose to come here,” she shared. Ruiz added, “We’ve been fortunate to see longtime regulars follow us here and meet new faces."

Avenue Coffeehouse is known for its signature drinks crafted with beans from Sugar Leaf Coffee Roasterie, a Milwaukee-based company. Some customer favorites include:

• Vanilla Bee Latte – vanilla, honey, and cinnamon
• Blackberry Lavender White Mocha
• Carrot Cake Latte – featuring house-made carrot cake syrup and cream topping

But it’s not just about coffee. The menu offers freshly baked goods and satisfying meals, from breakfast sandwiches on Stephen’s Breads sourdough and Ruby’s Bagels to croissants, waffles, and English muffins. The lunch lineup adds a playful twist with items like “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon,” “Jimmy Pesto,” and “Cheezus, Take the Wheel.”

Lewkowski and Ruiz are excited to continue growing Avenue Coffeehouse into a welcoming space where neighbors and friends can connect over great coffee and fresh, locally inspired food. Stop in for a specialty latte, grab a bite for lunch, and enjoy the patio on a sunny day.
