Oak Creek, Wis–July 22, 2026–During its meeting on Tuesday, July 21, the Oak Creek Common Council unanimously approved the purchase of the remaining developable land just south of IKEA, securing a key property along one of the City's most prominent development corridors.
The Purchase and Sales Agreement covers the property located at 1880 and 1998 W. Creekside Crossing Circle. Oak Creek is buying a total of just over 18 acres from Walden OC, LLC, for $3.6 million.
Located directly west of Interstate 94 and south of Drexel Avenue, adjacent to the IKEA parking lot, the property represents one of the last significant development opportunities at an I-94 interchange in Milwaukee County.
While no specific development plans have been identified, the acquisition allows the City to retain control of the site and thoughtfully guide its future use.
“By acquiring the property, the City is positioning itself to evaluate future opportunities that align with Oak Creek's long-term vision and economic development goals while ensuring this highly visible gateway location is developed in a way that benefits the community,” said Andrew J. Vickers, Oak Creek City Administrator.
The transaction is expected to be final by the end of September 2026.
