Status in Wisconsin
• As of March 16, 2020 of the total individuals tested, 504 were negative, 47 were positive, and 1 was positive but recovered.
• Wisconsin Department of Health Services keeps totals up to date at: http://dhs.wisconsin.gov/outbreaks
• All suspected cases are immediately referred to the local health department for further follow-up surveillance.
Status in Oak Creek
• Current risk to those that live, work or visit Oak Creek is LOW.
• One positive case of COVID-19 has been identified in Oak Creek.
• The Oak Creek Health Department is actively working to reduce the spread of disease in the community.
Practice Everyday Preventative Actions
• Wash hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds. If not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
• Avoid touching eyes, mouth, and nose with unwashed hands.
• Avoid close contact with individuals that are sick.
• STAY HOME when you re sick. Remain at home for 24 hours after you no longer have a fever.
• Cover your sneeze and cough.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects or surfaces.
• Avoid non-essential large events and gatherings. Gov. Evers has issued an order prohibiting mass gatherings of 50 or more people, statewide.
• Avoid travel to countries and states with sustained community spread of COVID-19.
