Status in Wisconsin

As of March 17, 2020 of the total individuals tested, 1038 were negative and 72 were positive.

- All suspected cases are immediately referred to the local health department for further follow-up surveillance.
- Gov. Evers has closed schools indefinitely.
- Gov. Evers has prohibited gatherings of more than 10 people.
Status in Oak Creek

Four positive case of COVID-19 have been identified in Oak Creek; all four individuals reside in the same household.
- There is evidence of community spread of COVID-19 in Milwaukee County, meaning individuals who have not traveled or had contact with a confirmed case have tested positive.
- The Health Department is actively working to reduce the spread of disease in the community.
- Restaurants and bars are open only for carry-out and delivery services. No one may eat or drink in the establishments.
Practice Everyday Preventative Actions
- Wash hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds. If not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Avoid touching eyes, mouth, and nose with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with individuals that are sick.
- STAY HOME when you re sick. Remain at home for 24 hours after you no longer have a fever.
- Cover your sneeze and cough.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects or surfaces.
- Avoid gatherings of more than 10 people.
- Avoid travel to countries and states with sustained community spread of COVID-19.
