Stormwater is water generated from rainfall, snow or hail. As it rains or as snow melts, the water either soaks into the ground via pervious surfaces (such as grass lawns or ditches), or flows off impervious surfaces (such as homes, buildings, roads, and sidewalks). In Oak Creek, this water travels through the storm sewer system ultimately discharging into the Oak Creek, Root River, or Lake Michigan.
