What We Do

The Oak Creek Fire Department’s Mobile Integrated Healthcare – Community Paramedicine (MIH) Program brings healthcare and safety services directly to you, helping residents live healthier, safer, and more independent lives.

What is a Community Paramedic?

A community paramedic is a specially trained paramedic who provides non-emergency healthcare and safety services in people’s homes.

Unlike traditional EMS calls, which focus on urgent emergencies, community paramedics:

  • Visit patients in a planned, non-emergency setting
  • Help manage chronic health conditions
  • Provide education, support, and resources
  • Connect people with local healthcare and community services
  • The goal is to keep residents safe, healthy, and out of the hospital whenever possible.

🚪 Home & Safety Services

It’s important to feel safe at home. We can help you create a safer living environment.

● Fall Prevention Evaluations – Reduce your risk of injury with a personalized in-home assessment. ● Home Safety Checks – Identify and fix safety hazards before they cause harm.

💊 Medication Support

Managing medications can be challenging. We can help you stay on track and understand your prescriptions.

  • Help remembering when and how to take your medication
  • Guidance on when to refill prescriptions
  • Step-by-step help on how to refill prescriptions
