Practitioner giving a man an immunizationThe Health Department can provide vaccines to eligible children and adults through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) and Vaccines for Adults (VFA) programs. In most cases, we are unable to provide VFC/VFA vaccines to those who have private health insurance or for travel. The eligibility for each program is outlined below.

VFC vaccines can be given to those 18 years and under who meet one of the following criteria:

  • They are enrolled or eligible for Medicaid.
  • They are American Indian or Alaskan Native.
  • They do not have health insurance.

VFC vaccines can be given to those 19 and older who meet one of the following criteria:

  • They don’t have health insurance.
  • They have health insurance, but it doesn’t cover the cost of certain vaccines or the fixed dollar amount limit/cap for vaccine has been reached.

The Health Department also offers flu vaccines to all community members during flu season. It is up to the individual to check with their health insurance company regarding coverage. Uninsured adults may receive flu vaccines through the VFA program.

Clinic Dates/Times

Vaccine clinics are held every other Tuesday from 9 a.m. -12 p.m. and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m., by appointment only. Clinic fees vary. Call the Oak Creek Health Department at 414-766-7950 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Did you know that you can look up your vaccine record online? If your information is in the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR), you can access your immunization at any time by visiting their website and entering the required information. If you believe your records should be in WIR but you don’t have access to them, our staff may be able to help.
