  • Public Works Technician

    The Department of Public Works is divided into four distinct yet collaborative Divisions. The Public Works Divisions include Streets, Parks & Open Space, Forestry, and Street Lighting. This position may assist in any of these areas but will primarily be focused on Streets and Forestry maintenance operations.
     
    The hours for this position are as follows: Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on-call for snow/ice operations and other emergencies, as needed. Occasional evening and Saturday hours are available for special events in Drexel Town Square, Abendschein Park, and Lake Vista Park. 

    This position is a great opportunity to work predominantly outdoors, with the ability to earn overtime pay or additional time off for working special events.

    Under the general direction of the Director of Utilities, this position performs highly responsible professional and managerial work in directing and administering the Engineering Division of the Water and Sewer Utility. The work involves planning, organizing, and overseeing utility engineering, design, construction, planning, and technology systems related to water distribution, water treatment, and wastewater infrastructure. The position requires the exercise of independent judgment, advanced technical expertise, and administrative accountability to ensure the effective delivery of utility services and compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

  • Utility Service Worker

    Under the general supervision of the Distribution Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining reliable and efficient water and sanitary sewer service to customers. The work encompasses all phases of the distribution system, including water and sewer main maintenance and repair, inspections, meter operations, customer service activities, and operation of related equipment and facilities. The position requires technical skill, independent judgment, and the ability to respond to routine and emergency situations.

    The Library Desk Clerk provides customer service to library patrons, performs clerical work relating to the public services, and assists in other support tasks as assigned. The work schedule for this position is: Monday – 8:30AM-5PM; Tuesday – 8:30AM-5PM; Wednesday: 4:15PM-8:15PM; Friday – 8:45AM-6:15PM; Saturday – 8:15AM-4:15PM (Friday and Saturday shifts alternate and are scheduled on a rotating basis). These hours may change to meet the needs of the library.
