GFL Environmental (formerly Advanced Disposal) collects both the garbage and recycling for the City of Oak Creek. If you have collection issues, need additional carts, replacement carts or a repair to your carts, please contact GFL Environmental at (262) 679-0860. 

2026 Garbage and Recycling Calendar

• When there is a holiday during the regular collection days of Monday through Thursday, from the holiday day forward, pick up will be one day later than normal, for the holiday week only.  The regular schedule will then resume the next week.

All garbage and recycling must be placed in these carts. Any garbage or recycling left outside the carts will not be collected.

The diagram above indicates the correct placement of your weekly garbage cart (blue) and your bi-weekly recycle cart (green).

• Please place your carts on the opposite corners of your driveway approach with the arrows on the lid pointing toward the street.
• Please DO NOT place your garbage cart on the same side of your approach as your mailbox, or within 5 feet of any vertical obstruction, including your recycle cart.
• A 15-foot minimum clearance is needed around parked vehicles.
• When there is an obvious reason you cannot place your carts as directed in the diagrams, please use your best judgment when placing your carts to the curbside. If your carts need to be relocated or placed differently, your garbage collector will place a red tag sticker on your cart with specific instructions.

• Garbage and Recycling carts for newly constructed homes may be obtained by calling the Oak Creek Department of Public Works at (414) 768-6552.  
• If you have collection issues, need additional carts, replacement carts or a repair to either of your carts, please contact GFL Environmental at (262) 679-0860. 

Please place the following items in the Recycling Cart:

• Mixed Containers
  • Aluminum cans & clean aluminum foil
  • Tin cans, steel cans, aerosol cans, empty/dried paint cans
  • Glass bottles & jars
  • #1-7 Plastic
  • Milk cartons, juice boxes, soup cartons
•  Mixed Paper
  • Newspaper, magazines, books, mail, school/office paper
  • Brown corrugated cardboard
  • Gray chipboard (Cereal and Shoe Boxes)
  • Brown Paper Bags

DO NOT place the following in the Recycling Cart:

• Styrofoam of any kind
• Trash
• Construction Materials
• Clothing
• Yard Waste
• Household hazardous waste
• Electronics
• Pizza Boxes

Please do not put recycling in plastic bags.

The above items can be taken to the Recycling Yard or MMSD's Home HazMat Collection.

Please place in the Garbage cart only the following items:

• Mixed Trash
• Ceramics
• Bagged Garbage & Food Waste
• Styrofoam
• Other loose trash
