Oak Creek’s 4th of July Parade attendees will be allowed to set up personal public viewing areas along the route no earlier than 24 hours prior to the July 4, 9:00 a.m. parade start. This policy enforces existing laws regarding abandoned property in public spaces. In recent years, some early parade-goer setups have become hazards to drivers and pedestrians in the days before the parade.
Personal items staged along the route before 9:00 a.m. on July 3 (chairs, tents, tables, blankets, location markers, coolers, etc.) will be presumed abandoned property and may be confiscated.
Anyone attending parades must respect private property boundaries and therefore must receive permission to view the parade from business or residential property. If permission is granted, please be respectful and we ask all parade attendees to collect any trash before leaving.
